• Question: what type of fossil was thought to be a dragons and giants before they were tested.

      I’m not sure anyone has ever proven that the stories of dragons and giants came from people finding fossils, however it is very likely that we’ve been discovering dinosaur fossils for thousands of years. It’s speculated that Chang Qu in 300 BC China found dinosaur bones and labeled them as belong to a dragon; I’m not sure we know what the bones were from though.

      I agree with Ben.

      I’m not sure either if the stories about dragons and giants came from dinosaur fossils, but it would not surprise me if it did, since dragons are reptiles, just like the dinosaurs. Human have a wild imagination and the fossils might have inspired them or perhaps the stories about dragons and giants were made up by one person, who everyone just believed.
