We examine whatever we find which is often a really interesting mix of fish, eels, sharks, decapods, amphipods etc. We have some pictures of the animals on our blog from the cruise (http://hadeep.wordpress.com/).

I personally examine amphipods which are crustaceans that live at every depth of the sea – from beaches to the deepest point in the ocean! They come in many different sizes from just a few mm long to 28cm – these are called supergiants (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-16834913).

Some of my friends work on the fish species and there is a really neat video of the deepest living fish from some of our cruises too (http://web.whoi.edu/hades/the-deepest-fish/).
