      Hi alexeatsglitter,

At the science conference I get to present my research to other scientists who are interested in the same topic as me. I have to make a powerpoint presentation and stand in front a lot of people. The last presentation I gave was at the European Association for the Study of the Liver, also called EASL, in London. I talked about how the hepatitis C virus is distributed in the liver and that the virus in one part of the liver have similar genes to the virus which has infected other parts of the liver.

Usually I get questions about my work afterwards or the other scientists will come up to me after the presentation to have a chat about the research. I actually prefer the individual discussions afterwards because we can go into more details about the science and potentially set up collaborations for new projects.

I know a lot of the people who work on hepatitis C virus in UK, so it is also just nice to catch up with them at the conferences and perhaps go to the pub together in the evening.
