      Hello,

Previously people thought that we were the center of the universe and that the Earth was the most important planet of them all. That was way we and the Earth were placed in the center with all the other planet, including the Sun, circulating us. It was not until Nicolaus Copernicus in 1453 suggested that the Earth circulates the Sun (just like the other 7 major planets do) people actually started thinking that perhaps we are just a small piece in a very large jigsaw.

Some times when I look at the stars I start thinking about the exact same question as you just asked! Perhaps we are just microscopic creatures on our own planet and that there is something greater out in the universe. I like to think that we are not alone and that somewhere else in the universe a chemical reaction, similar to the one on Earth, started life somewhere else.

I distinctly remember this being the case at the end of Men in Black… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKnpPCQyUec
